What we collect
Account details (email, name, optional Google profile), exam goals, practice attempts, writing/speaking submissions, audio recordings you upload for grading, vocabulary progress, and subscription status via Stripe.
Microphone & background audio
The mobile app requests microphone access to record speaking answers for practice, roleplay, and mock exams. In hands-free roleplay (headphones required), recording and playback may continue while the screen is locked or the app is in the background so the conversation loop is not interrupted. Audio leaves the device only when you submit a recording for scoring; we do not use the microphone for advertising or always-on listening outside an active speaking session.
How we use it
To run TCF Canada practice, score submissions, personalize study plans, send optional practice reminders, and manage paid access. We do not sell personal data.
Processors
Hosting and storage (Railway / object storage), AI scoring providers, email (Resend), payments (Stripe), and Google or Apple Sign-In when you choose those options.
Your choices
You can update profile preferences, opt out of practice reminder emails, and permanently delete your account from Settings in the app or web profile. Deletion removes learner data cascaded from your account and cancels an active Stripe subscription when present.
